 https://orphanadultsinukraine.blogspot.com
#6 on the list in https://ukrainesocialprojects.blogspot.com

In the quiet historical Zashkiv village, 20 km west from the city of Lviv there is the possibility of setting up a help center/halfway home for adult orphans who are left on their own as soon as they reach legal age.
Since the state does not provide accommodation facilities for orphans after they finish high school, this halfway home is being set up to provide a home for orphaned children who have nowhere to go after their secondary level studies.  This halfway home is to prevent that the orphans end up in the world of drugs, crime and despair.

Two bare land plots of 0.15 and 0.15 hectare (30 ares or 3,000m2) have already been reserved for the halfway home located on a slope nearby a forest at the end of a quiet street.  A preliminary sketch of the building has been done for a fee.  These two land plots will provide space for a garden and an orchard. Ideally a third land plot totally nearby should be acquired for permaculture and gardening activities.  No need to dig a well, but a metal fence has to be installed, and electricity connected.

Basic furniture will be bought for the house (bunk beds, tables, chairs and benches; kitchen appliances, bathroom equipment, washing machines).  Nothing superfluous.

Financial assistance needed immediately:  5,000 USD for the building documentation; 34,000 USD to purchase the 0.30 ha (two land plots); 15,500 USD to purchase the third land plot (0.15ha); 40,000 USD to lay down the foundations; 3,500 USD to cover administrative costs.  For a total interim amount of 98,000 USD of the 504,000 USD needed.

8.  Vynnytsia Children Alternative Education Center
#12 on the list in https://ukrainesocialprojects.blogspot.com

Location:  City of Vynnytsia (Vynnytsia oblast)
Purpose:  The creation of such a children center is critical for the social, emotional and intellectual development of children who nowadays are glued to the TV and iPads.  Since the state does not provide funding for various extracurricular activities, children end up on the street experiencing alcohol, smoking, drugs, foul language and other negative influences.  The children center will provide the children from the age of three a learning environment ranging from sports, visual arts, arts and crafts, weaving, wood carving, gardening, music, dancing, to pottery, wood working and even metal working.  Children will be given the opportunity to discover their likes from an early age and chose their favorite activities at their own rate of development.  This will ensure that the children will be brought up based on integrity, respect, love of work and learning, and readiness to do good around themselves.  The center will be a smoke free, alcohol free, drugs free, and arrogance free area.
Description of the land plot:  Very few existing buildings in the city of Vynnytsia can be adapted to such activities.  To build such a center would require one hectare of land on which could be built several buildings to accommodate the children and their parents.  Pottery, wood working, metal working all require separate locations.  Dancing and sport activities requires spacious rooms, weaving and painting ventilated areas, etc.  Therefore the main building and other smaller buildings must be designed to render possible various types of activities.
Planned construction:  It is planned to construct a two-story building (1,000m2) to accommodate 200 people or more.  There will be rooms, kitchen facilities, dining room and a dormitory for the children for napping time.
Basic furniture will be bought for the building (bunk beds, tables, chairs and benches; kitchen appliances, bathroom equipment, washing machines).  Nothing superfluous.
Self-financing:  to ensure self-financing of this children center, art and music festivals, community activities, fundraising activities will be organized in addition to the fees that will be charged for hall rentals and other services that will be provided by the center.

In the city of Irpin, 15 km from the city of Kyiv there is a building suitable as a halfway home for adult orphans who are left on their own as they reach legal age.  To prevent that the orphans end up in the world of drugs, crime and despair, they need a family environment where they can obtain moral and physical support while they are learning the ropes of adult life to which the school system has not prepared them.
One land plot of 0.4 hectare (4 ares or 400m2) with an old house in need of repairs inside and outside including the roof.  It is located on a quiet lane 500 off the main road.  On this land plot there is a small orchard and space for a garden.  There is a water, electricity and gas.  A metal fence has to be installed and the territory needs to be cleaned up from all old run down shacks and side building.  Very convenient transportation to Kyiv directly to the metro.
Basic furniture will be bought for the house (bunk beds, tables, chairs and benches; kitchen appliances, bathroom equipment, washing machines).  Nothing superfluous.
Financial assistance needed:  3,000 USD for the building documentation; 15,000 USD to purchase the land plot of 0.4 ha with the house; 5,500 USD to fence the property, connect the electricity and gas to the building; 45,000 USD to rebuild the home, 15,000 USD for the animal shelter, 10,500 USD for administrative costs; and 20,000 USD for a used multi van.
